"Red Lightning" 1x12 Combo

This amp now resides in the band “Blackfinger” with the lead guitarist, Andy.

Based on the Matchless Lightning this amp does beautiful chimey clean tones as well as dirty with singing sustain.

The cabinet is made from Poplar & sports some unique features that I came up with. The combination of the aluminum front & back panels along with the transparent red finish on the wood makes for a beautiful look.

The handle is recessed and sits flush with the top of the cabinet when depressed. The aluminum feature plates were given a spun finish. This is the cabinet before painting.

Here is the cabinet after being painted and the aluminum feature plates have been installed.

The .090 aluminum chassis was also given a spun finish and the transformers were painted metallic gray.
